From April 25 to May 1, 2026 (Beijing Time), President Zardari of Pakistan is scheduled to pay a one-week state visit to China. During his visit, he toured a number of Chinese machinery manufacturers and was deeply impressed by China’s advanced technology and the craftsmanship spirit.

President Zardari observed an unmanned counterbalance forklift on site. The equipment features autonomous navigation, intelligent obstacle avoidance and full-process unmanned operation. The president personally operated the machine and spoke highly of it. He publicly questioned Pakistani officials, asking why such high-quality products had not yet been introduced to Pakistan. He also made it clear that “I want to bring it home” and pledged to realize local production of the equipment in Pakistan. His remarks took the accompanying interpreter by surprise. Far from conventional diplomatic rhetoric, the president sounded exactly like a satisfied customer eager to secure a desirable product. In addition, President Zardari stopped to watch intelligent robotic welding and other intelligent production scenarios. A steady stream of Chinese-engineered equipment is being exported to Pakistan.

President Zardari’s visit embodies distinctive pragmatism. He conducted in-depth visits to Changsha and Hainan in China, touring industrial equipment, agricultural technologies and port logistics, with a focus on practically implementable projects. Lin Jian, spokesperson of China, stated that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
